James started losing his vision in 2000. By 2008, he was legally blind. He thought his days of adventuring were over, but in 2016, he worked with modifications on his setup and set out on a 236-mile tour in California.

In 2018, Daniel Troia rode across the country (and most of the way back) without bringing any of his own food or money. He relied on donations from people along the way, and set out to prove that people are inherently good. His self-produced documentary We're All in This Together premieres on January 12th on Apple TV, Amazon Prime, and Google Play.

This summer, the Cola Town Bike Collective (CTBC) hosted two bike overnights for women, trans, femme, and nonbinary individuals, thanks in part to a mini grant from the Adventure Cycling Association. Here's their trip recap. 

Camp Spokes is a free summer camp program for girls and gender-variant youth to learn about bike mechanics, safe cycling in urban and mountain bike settings, and sustainable DIY projects. This is a trip recap of their first overnight ride down the Virginia Capital Trail, which was helped make possible with an Adventure Cycling Association Minigrant.

We eat a lot on bike tours, but it’s not only about the food. Ask someone about a recipe, and you are asking them about their lives. Food is not simply our fuel, just like bicycles are not only our mode of transport. Both are a way to appreciate and truly get to know the place we are working so hard to travel through in the first place.

Thanks in part to an Adventure Cycling Association Mini Grant, the Coalition for Appropriate Transportation (CAT) was able to host a two-day women's ride this fall, inviting more women into the cycling world. Here are the details from the ride.
