Shira Gordon became a tandem captain with the Metro Washington Association of Blind Athletes (MWABA) in 2017, and she joined the MWABA board in 2020. She loves the camaraderie and teamwork of tandem biking. She enjoys bike touring and biked from Montreal to Quebec City with MWABA and has done overnight bike trips on a tandem and single bike on the C&O and GAP trails. This June, more than 20 people bike camped along the C&O Canal towpath with the Metro Washington Association of Blind Athletes. This trip was funded in part by an Adventure Cycling Association mini grant.
