Kourtney Kardashian Just Revealed The Sad Reason Why She Couldn’t Take Baby Rocky Out When They Spent A Whole Month In Australia

“We haven’t been using a nanny or a baby nurse with Rocky at all, but now that we’re in Australia, it was important to bring someone,” Kourtney explained.

Back in November, Kourtney Kardashian-Barker and Travis Barker welcomed their first child together, a baby boy who they named Rocky.

While they have shared some photos of Rocky on social media, and he has been included in Kourtney’s family reality show, The Kardashians, the couple have been careful not to reveal his face to the world while enjoying their newborn bubble.

In February, Kourtney and Rocky accompanied Travis to Australia for the whole month as Travis was touring the country with his band Blink-182. They were also joined by Kourtney’s two youngest children from her relationship with Scott Disick, 12-year-old Penelope, and nine-year-old Reign.

Kourtney and Scott also share 14-year-old Mason, who opted to stay in California with his dad instead of joining his mom and siblings Down Under. 


And in this week’s episode of The Kardashians, Kourtney explained that being in Australia had forced her and Travis to outsource childcare for Rocky for the first time since his birth. 


The star admitted that she was reluctant to take Rocky out of their accommodation due to the relentless paparazzi in Sydney, where they were staying. 


However, she also realized that it wasn’t fair for Penelope and Reign to stay indoors, so she had to make the tough decision to leave Rocky behind for a couple of hours each day.


In the episode, Kourtney could be seen enjoying lunch with Penelope and Reign, but they were targeted by a man carrying a long-lens camera as soon as they left the restaurant.

Kourtney and the kids had wanted to spend time outside on the beach enjoying the view, and were visibly rattled by the pap’s presence.

“That’s annoying,” Kourtney said as she noticed him. “Alright, I don’t see us standing out here for a long time if that guy’s here.”

The man then started to run, prompting Kourtney to usher her kids into their car. As they shut the car doors, she could be heard telling her children: “We can’t let them ruin our whole time.”

The star added in a confessional afterward: “The paparazzi are everywhere in Sydney. Everywhere, which is why I’m not taking Rocky out.”

“But as much as I would love to stay home and be in my bubble, it’s not fair to have my kids all the way in Australia and not take them out to do things,” Kourtney acknowledged. 


Later in the episode, Kourtney explained: “We haven’t been using a nanny or a baby nurse with Rocky at all, but now that we’re in Australia, it was important to bring someone so that I could leave the house and go out with the other kids and do adventures with them.”


“I really schedule each adventure around his nap,” she went on. “Then I have a window of being gone. Two and a half hours is my time where I feel like I’m ready to go back.”

On a different day, she, Travis, Penelope, and Reign met Travis’s bandmate Mark Hoppus, and his wife, Skye Hoppus, for lunch on a boat before they took the kids to an amusement park.

Opening up to Skye, Kourtney said of Rocky: “I hate leaving him. I get antsy, like, We’re taking too long; what are we doing?! I think probably for the next three months, I will be like that.”


Kourtney previously opened up about the “mom guilt” she feels towards her older children after having a new baby, and also defended her and Travis’s decision to co-sleep with Rocky.
