The journey from Seattle to Fort Flagler is really magical. You start with a ferry across Elliott Bay to idyllic Bainbridge Island. Cross Bainbridge Island and stop for a night at Fay Bainbridge Park where you can wake up to the sounds of waves lapping at the dunes and birds gently calling; or do it all in one day with some rest stops at awesome cafes and cideries along the way. Fort Flagler’s hiker-biker sites have some of the best views in the campground, and you can hike down to the beach for some sun, gorgeous sunsets, fishing, and views of Port Townsend across the inlet.
